Landon Funk
Landon earned her Bachelor’s degree in English from Princeton University and will earn her Master’s in English Literature from Mercy College later this year. While at Princeton, she took a summer semester at the prestigious University of Southern California’s film school. She went on to work in Hollywood for three years as a screenwriter and creative director before moving back to Nashville in 2018. Since then, her creative work has appeared in Red Hyacinth, babe, Women’s Golf, The Tennessean, among others and often investigates gender, sexuality, film, religion, and dehumanization. In November 2022, Landon will speak at the South Atlantic Modern Language Conference on Maus and the McMinn County School Board’s banning of the graphic novel and will also give a presentation on feminist motifs and themes in Thelma and Louise in Los Angeles for the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association.
